Friends of the MIPLC e.V.

"Friends of the MIPLC e.V." is a registered, not-for-profit association based in Munich, Germany. Its members have set themselves the task to support the development of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC). The MIPLC is a very special academic institution jointly operated by the Max Planck Society, the Technische Universität München, the University of Augsburg, and The George Washington University Law School, Washington D.C., USA. It offers the internationally renowned, practice-oriented LL.M. program "Intellectual Property and Competition Law" and engages in cutting-edge IP research.

The "Friends of the MIPLC" actively take part in the life of the MIPLC in two ways:
First of all, the association grants scholarships to selected students of the MIPLC's LL.M. program. Every year, very bright and highly qualified students from all over the world gain admission, but some of the admitted candidates are unable to actually enroll in the LL.M. program for lack of funds. This is where the "Friends of the MIPLC" step in to help.

Moreover, the association "Friends of the MIPLC" supports scientific conferences and lectures organized in the context of the MIPLC, such as the annual Alumni Conference, during which alumni from all over the world return to the MIPLC to deliver presentations on IP-related topics they are doing research on or are engaged in professionally.
